Piccadilly Line: what's running on Sunday 2 August

If you are travelling on the Piccadilly Line this Sunday, it is worth checking your route carefully before you leave home.

For most of the day, there is no service between Cockfosters and Heathrow (all terminals). Trains continue to run between Acton Town and Uxbridge, so local journeys in that corridor are unaffected. Between the early hours — 0030 and 0430 — the line is suspended entirely, with replacement buses in operation throughout. Full status details are on the TfL website.

For residents heading to or from Heathrow, TfL advises using rail connections between the terminals. The Elizabeth line remains a practical alternative for Heathrow journeys, with services running via Paddington.

For Chiswick travellers, the key point is that Acton Town — your nearest Piccadilly Line station — is within the operating section, so westbound journeys toward Uxbridge are running normally. It is the longer Heathrow and central London portions of the line that are affected.

Plan extra time if your journey involves a connection, and check the TfL status board on the morning for any last-minute changes.
