Piccadilly Line delays west of Acton Town — Heathrow travellers affected

Piccadilly Line passengers heading to Heathrow or along the Uxbridge branch faced severe delays on Tuesday morning, with TfL citing an operational incident between Acton Town and the terminal stations. The rest of the line was running normally.

For Chiswick residents, the disruption is particularly relevant to anyone with early morning flights or a commute towards Heathrow. TfL confirmed that London Underground tickets were being accepted on London Buses, the Elizabeth line and South Western Railway as alternatives.

The Elizabeth line remains the most practical substitute for Heathrow: catch it from Ealing Broadway, with regular fast services to all Heathrow terminals. South Western Railway from Chiswick station offers a useful connection into central London if your onward journey can be rerouted.
